What drives the cost
- Scope – the cheapest offers are agent-only designations: a name and address on your registration, with correspondence forwarded. They do not include preparing or filing your registration. Bundles that include the filing, FEI obtainment, and renewal handling cost more because the work is included.
- Bundling – agent-only designations cost less than bundles that include registration filing, FEI obtainment, and product listing support.
- Billing model – annual-upfront plans vs. monthly. Monthly costs more over a full year but lets you leave without sunk cost.
- Per-product fees – some providers charge per SKU for product listings ($150–$200 per product above). With a large catalog, this dwarfs the headline price.
- Consultancy overhead – large regulatory firms fold the agent role into enterprise engagements priced on request.
Our pricing
$450 one-time onboarding per facility. $34.99/month for continuous representation. That is about $870 in the first year and about $420 per year after. No per-product surcharge, and biennial renewal filing is included while you are subscribed.
Hidden fees to watch
- Per-SKU listing surcharges – ask for the all-in cost for your actual catalog size, not the base fee.
- “Certificate” upsells – ask what the document actually is and what it proves before paying extra for it.
- Amendment fees – some providers charge every time your registration needs a change. Ours includes the filings in the subscription.
- No resignation process – the cheapest option gets expensive if a messy exit leaves you scrambling for a replacement agent under time pressure.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a MoCRA U.S. agent cost?
Between $225 and $990 per year depending on scope. Agent-only designations cost about $249–$300 per year; services that also prepare and file your facility registration cost $300–$990 per year. Our full-service price is $450 one-time plus $34.99/month.
Does the FDA charge a fee for registration?
No. FDA charges no fee for cosmetic facility registration, product listings, or FEI issuance. You pay only your provider’s service fee.
Why do prices vary so much?
Scope. A bare designation costs less than a bundle with filing, FEI work, renewal tracking, and correspondence handling. Compare what is included, not just the headline number.
Can I switch to a cheaper agent later?
Yes. File an amended facility registration naming the new agent. Your FEI and history carry over. Details in our transfer guide.
Is a multi-year upfront plan worth it?
Only if the per-year math beats monthly and you are confident in the provider. Ask what happens to prepaid time if you cancel early – and get the answer in writing.
